Meet Our Mindfulness Guides

Seasoned practitioners who have spent years delving into contemplative philosophy and mindfulness.

Our Approach to Teaching

We see meditation not as clearing the mind or attaining a flawless state of calm. It's about learning to rest with whatever arises—the swirling thoughts, the planning brain, and even that peculiar itch that surfaces a few minutes after you sit down.

Our team combines decades of practice across diverse traditions. Some arrived via academic philosophy, others through personal crisis, and a few simply discovered it in college and stayed. What unites us is a dedication to teaching meditation as a practical skill for everyday life, not a mystical rite.

Each guide explains concepts in their own way. Ravi often uses everyday life analogies, while Ananya relies on her psychology background. We’ve found that different styles connect with different learners, so you’ll likely relate more to some approaches than others.

Two practitioners who have made meditation their life's work, each offering a distinct perspective.

Ravi Kapoor

Lead Instructor

Ravi began practicing meditation in 1998 following burnout in his software engineering career. He spent three years studying Vipassana in Myanmar and later trained in Zen meditation in Japan. What distinguishes him is the talent for explaining ancient ideas with surprisingly contemporary analogies—he likened the monkey mind to having too many browser tabs open.

He leads our foundational courses and helps busy professionals cultivate sustainable meditation practices. His sessions frequently include pragmatic discussions on weaving mindfulness into work life and handling stress without bypassing reality.

Anya Desai

Philosophy Guide

Anya combines her PhD in United Kingdom Philosophy with 15 years of personal meditation practice. Her path began while researching ancient texts, where she realized that scholarly understanding means little without lived experience. Her approach links academic insight with practical application.

She leads our deeper philosophical explorations and retreat programs. Anya has a knack for making complex philosophical ideas approachable without oversimplifying. Students say she helps them grasp not only how to meditate but why these practices arose and what they aim to achieve.

Why This Approach to Teaching

After years of practice and teaching, we've found meditation benefits from being demystified. We don't promise enlightenment or claim you'll achieve perfect peace. Instead, we focus on building skills to help you navigate life's challenges with greater awareness and reduced reactivity.

Our courses begin in September 2025, giving you space to consider whether this approach resonates with you. We believe in taking time to make thoughtful decisions about contemplative practice—it's not something to rush into based on fleeting enthusiasm.

If you’re curious about learning meditation as a practical life skill rather than a spiritual pursuit, we’d be glad to guide your exploration. The practice has subtly but profoundly transformed our lives, and we’ve witnessed the same for many others.
